NSE Holidays 2025: The festive season is going on and next week the festival of Diwali will be celebrated across the country. Holidays have been announced in the country regarding this. The stock markets will also remain closed on this day. Trading will also remain closed in both the major stock exchanges of the country, BSE and NSE.

However, Muhurat trading will definitely take place and time has also been fixed for it. The stock markets will remain closed for 4 days in the coming week. All the information regarding holidays in the stock market is given below.

When is the stock market closed?

Indian stock market will remain closed on 21st October (Tuesday) due to Diwali and Lakshmi Puja. After this, there will be no trading in the market on 22nd October (Wednesday) even on the occasion of Diwali Balipratipada. At the same time, due to weekly holiday on 25th October (Saturday) and 26th October (Sunday), trading in the stock market will remain closed. That means, the stock market will be open only for 3 days in the entire week. Also, Multi Commodity Exchange will remain closed on 21st and 22nd October due to Diwali.

When will Muhurta trading happen?

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the date for Muhurat trading on NSE and BSE has been fixed as October 21, 2025. Investors can do Muhurat trading from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm on October 21. The time for pre-open session has been fixed from 1:30 pm to 1:45 pm. Muhurta trading is considered auspicious for investors.

It is believed that investing in Muhurta trading brings opportunities for prosperity and profit throughout the year. The tradition of Muhurta trading is very old in India. Indian investors see Diwali as the beginning of the new year and make a positive start to their year by investing in Muhurta trading. When else will the stock markets remain closed this year?

After next week’s Diwali holiday, this year the stock market will remain closed on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti on 5 November and Christmas on 25 December.
