Organizations and builders associated with the real estate sector believe that if this sector gets the status of an industry, it will be easier for them to take long-term loans at low interest rates. Apart from this, better funding options will also be available.

Developers say that this demand has been made for a long time. Now they hope to get policy support from the budget, so that the sector can get stability and strength.

Role of real estate in GDP and employment

According to a report published in Moneycontrol, Pradeep Agarwal, Founder and Chairman of Signature Global (India) Limited, says that the real estate sector is currently contributing about 7 percent to the country’s GDP. This provides employment in more than 200 related sectors.

He said that, in future, this sector can play a stronger role in economic development. With the support of right policies from the government, its contribution can reach 15 percent in GDP by the year 2047.

At the same time, Rajat Khandelwal, CEO of Tribeca Developers Group, said that the sector needs such sustainable policies, which will benefit both home builders and buyers. He believes that by getting the status of industry, cheap loans and long term capital will be available. Which will help in the way builders work.

Real estate developers are hoping to implement the single-window clearance system. Due to which all the approvals of different departments will be available on a single digital platform.
