Income tax return 2025: The deadline for filing income tax returns is approaching. The government has extended the last date for filing returns from 31 July to 15 September. That is, there is less than 10 days left. In such a situation, the Income Tax Department has continued two mobile apps for taxpayers, with the help of which you can file your returns comfortably without any hurry. This will also save time. These two apps named as ‘AIS for Taxpayer’ and ‘Income Tax Department’ are available on Android and iOS platforms. It has been designed for salaried individuals, pensioners and small taxpayers with simple income profiles so that they do not have any problem in filing returns.

File your return in this way

  • You can login with your PAN, Aadhaar or registered user ID and password in the app.
  • After logging in the app, you will get an annual information report (AIS) and Taxpayer Information Summer (TIS). In these, data of places like company, bank, mutual funds are already filled, so that there is no need to make an entry manually.
  • This app helps you choose the correct ITR form based on your salary, pension, capital gains and second means of income.
  • If you want, you can update the data with the help of the app, if you have missed something, then you can add it such as income and fare income from fixed deposits may require a manually entry of interest.
  • After filling the returns, Aadhaar can get e-verification from OTP, net banking or digital signature. Returns are immediately submitted and the analyzment is also generated.
  • Through these apps, it helps in reducing dependence on desktops and middlemen. This is especially useful for those who want to complete their filing quickly and safely.
