Delhi Liquor sale 2025: This festive season, people have been drinking heavily in the country’s capital Delhi. Due to which Delhi government earned crores of rupees in the form of tax. Besides, there was also an increase of 15 percent in the income from retail liquor sales as compared to last year.

That is, the people of Delhi filled the government treasury during the festive season. Recently, data in this regard has been released by the Delhi government. According to the data, there was a huge jump in liquor sales during the festive season. During Diwali alone, the government received a revenue of Rs 600 crore from retail liquor sales.

Increased hope of meeting revenue target

According to the data released by the government, the government received revenue of Rs 4,192.86 crore from excise duty and value added tax (VAT) in the first half of the financial year 2025-26. Last year during this period this figure was Rs 3,731.79 crore. Which shows a difference of Rs 461.07 crore. The Excise Department hopes that with the increased sales during the festive season, they can meet the revenue target of Rs 6000 crore.

Government’s revenue increased by 15 percent

During Diwali alone, Delhi government got revenue of about Rs 600 crore from retail liquor sale. Which shows an increase of 15 percent compared to last year. Due to which the government hopes that they will soon meet their target of revenue from liquor sales. Also, the wedding season will start in the coming months of November and December. It is often seen that the consumption and sale of alcohol increases during the wedding season. Delhi government may earn good revenue in the coming 2 months.
