Adani Group took a big step, placed a big bet of Rs 820 crore on flight training company FSTC

Adani Defence: After infrastructure, green energy and port development, now Adani Group is strengthening its hold in the defense sector also. In this sequence, Adani Defense Systems and Technologies Limited (ADSTL) in collaboration with Prime Aero Services LLP has announced the purchase of majority stake in Flight Simulation Technique Center Private Limited (FSTC). The total value of this deal is said to be Rs 820 crore. This is a big step taken in the direction of the flight training sector of the country.

Pilots are given training

FSTC is a company which provides training to pilots to fly. This is the country’s largest and independent flight training and simulation center. FSTC has 11 full-flight simulators and 17 training aircraft, through which it runs training programs ranging from Commercial Pilot License to Type Rating Recurrent Training and Special Skills Programme.

The company is certified by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) and EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency), which runs its simulation centers in Gurugram and Hyderabad. There is a possibility of further expansion in the coming time. Apart from this, the company also runs one of the largest flying schools in India at Bhiwani and Narnaul in Haryana.

Why is this deal considered important?

India’s defense pilot training ecosystem is emerging rapidly because it has immense potential in the future. In such a situation, simulator-based training reduces expenses and improves safety and efficiency. FSTC is trying to strengthen its hold in both defense and civil domains.

Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defense and Aerospace, said, “This acquisition is the next step in our strategy to create a fully integrated aviation services platform. With FSTC joining Air Works and Indamar Technologies we now offer Civil MRO, General Aviation MRO [मेंटेनेंस, रिपेयर और ओवरहॉल]can serve customers in defense MRO and full-stack flight training.

He further said, “Airlines in India are planning to induct more than 1,500 new aircraft in the coming years. Additionally, the government’s emphasis on advanced training and mission rehearsals for the armed forces creates new opportunities in defense simulation. In line with our philosophy of helping build a safer nation, our aim is to support the next generation of Indian defense pilots.
