First Anniversary Of Adani Mangal Seva: Jeet Adani, younger son of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, along with his wife Diva Shah participated in the ‘Mangal Seva’ program started to help disabled women on their first wedding anniversary. During this, he said that marital life cannot progress due to fear and insecurity, and this initiative has been started with this thought in mind. Jeet Adani told that this year 500 newly married disabled women are being given financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh each.
This program has been started especially with the aim of making newly married disabled women self-reliant and giving them a secure future, under which this assistance will be provided to 500 women every year. Diva Shah thanked everyone on this occasion.
Rs 10 lakh each to 500 disabled women
Jeet Adani reiterated Adani Foundation’s commitment to provide fixed deposits of Rs 10 lakh each to 500 disabled women getting married under the ‘Mangal Seva’ initiative. Speaking on the first anniversary of the initiative, Jeet Adani, Director, Adani Airports, said that as the Foundation interacted with families, it understood that for many women with disabilities, marriage can be full of happiness and meaning, but it also comes with concerns about finances, health and long-term security.
He said that the Foundation felt that if something had to be done, it should be something that would permanently reduce this concern, not increase it further. While sharing her experiences, she mentioned a woman who was hearing impaired and was worried after marriage that she would always be dependent on others. Jeet Adani told that by planning the income from FD in the last one year, he not only started contributing to the house, but also planned for the future of his child.
He said that this change from worry to confidence and from silence to one’s voice is the soul of Mangal Seva and these stories inspire us to take this journey forward.
FD is not money but ‘security cover’
Jeet Adani said that the interest received from this fixed deposit will support the beneficiary woman every year and after 10 years the entire amount will be hers. Jeet Adani said that this FD is not just money, it is assurance, it is an option, it is a security blanket, which gives a woman the strength to plan her life with confidence. Very soon we realized that Mangal Seva is not just about giving, but about standing together. On the occasion of the launch of the program, Jeet Adani met 21 disabled brides and their husbands.
