Amid global export pressure and recent decline, the government has taken a big step for the landlocked states. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said in the Board of Trade meeting that targeted schemes will be brought to increase the export capacity of states without coastlines like Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. This decision has come at a time when India’s exports registered a decline of 11.8% in October. The government has approved the Export Promotion Mission of ₹25,060 crore, which will be applicable for 6 years. Under this, the focus will be on export incentives, logistics improvement, market access and global competitiveness. UP, Haryana, MP, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Telangana will get direct benefits from this. Emphasis has also been laid on Centre–state partnership, ease of doing business and digital coordination.
